Post-Grad Bucket List

Graduating college brings a host of mixed emotions along with it. It’s an exciting time of new beginnings and endless possibilities. However, it can also feel like navigating a maze with your eyes closed. It is perfectly normal to feel nervous, or even terrified when facing graduation. Think about it, we spend relatively all of our lives in school, and all of a sudden we’re flung into the “real world”.

A great way to combat these feelings of fear and anxiety is by making plans to look forward to. They will allow you to focus on the exciting aspects of entering adulthood instead of the scary parts. Below we’ll discuss 5 essential plans you need to add to your post-grad bucket list!

1. Plan a solo trip

Post-graduation is an ideal opportunity for self-discovery and solo exploration! Traveling alone offers the freedom to tailor your journey exactly to your preferences. You can embrace spontaneity and follow your instincts without needing to consider anyone else's approval. It's a chance to reflect, recharge, and connect with both yourself and others along the way. And who knows? You might even encounter a vacation romance to add an extra spark to your adventures!

2. Learn a new skill/hobby

As you start your first big-girl job you might find it difficult to reserve time for yourself. Adjusting to the 9-5 grind can be exhausting, but it’s vital that you still make an effort to learn new things for yourself. For instance, I have just picked up sewing, but the world is your oyster! Whether it's crocheting a top or sculpting a vase, if you've ever admired someone's craft and thought, "I wish I could do that," now's your chance to learn!

3. Redecorate your space

Whether you're settling back into your childhood bedroom or starting fresh in a new apartment, your space should be your sanctuary. It's where you recharge, unwind, and truly be yourself. So, take the time to personalize it and make it reflect who you are. Add touches of your favorite colors, decor that brings you joy, and meaningful mementos that tell your story.

4. Join a social group

Networking is super important after you graduate because you no longer have the school environment to rely on for making friends and connections. This is where social clubs come in. It could be anything from a pottery class to a hiking club or even a social group like Blossom Social! That’s what we’re here for after all! Whatever you choose, just make sure you’re doing something to help enhance your social life.

5. Go on a friends trip

It’s time for the plans to actually leave the groupchat. Solo trips are important for self-discovery, but friend trips are the perfect excuse to let loose and celebrate your accomplishments surrounded by people you love! These are the moments you’ll think back on for the rest of your life, so seize the opportunity to create unforgettable memories with your friends while you're young.
